The Mullard EL84 tubes are newly manufactured copies of the old Mullard tubes, made to the old specs. Individually boxed, when purchased as a quad, these tubes have 9 pins on them. They can replace the 6BQ5 tubes, but this has not been tried. Customers have spoken very highly about these tubes. They have noticed a significant improvement in their amp's sound quality after installing these tubes, particularly regarding tone, fizziness, and warmth (compared to previous tubes). They have been described as the best sounding tubes for the money.
