The Hang Em Fast joist hanger tool is reviewed on a Q&A page. It is stated that the product has good results for ceiling joist and trusses, but there are a variety of issues that can arise. The tool only works if the hangers are flush with the bottom of the header, and if you are hanging different dimension lumber, it may not work. If the top of the joist must be flush with the band, you should cut the tongue off the Hang Em Fast tool before use. If the joist hangers are set in place with one hand and the points at the top of the hanger are hammered in, it takes practice to figure out how to hang them correctly. The location of the installation and the 2x6 ledger board size is also brought into question.
