It includes specimens for flat lapping, reaming, grinding, horizontal milling, vertical milling, and turning. Each type of surface finish is truly and Consistently reproduced, conforms to SAE and military specifications, and manufactured to ANSI-B-46.1-1985. The set is made of solid electroformed nickel, and is marked with AA (microinches) and Metric in Ra (micrometers). It comes with a certificate of conformity and instructions. Users found it a useful international standard, great for testing a roughness meter, portable and well built. However, some have found the quality to be lacking with crooked stickers covering a portion of the standards themselves.
