About This Item

Upgrade your vehicle's ignition system with the MSD 8201 Pro Power Ignition Coil, a top-performing coil perfect for short-duration applications like drag racing or tractor pulls. The specialized windings of this coil boast incredibly low resistance, ensuring the highest voltage possible with ample spark energy when paired with an MSD 7 or 8-series ignition control. This coil features a spark plug style terminal for a firm connection to the coil wire and a coil wire tower that rises tall above the primary terminals for maximum performance.

Constructed using high dielectric polyester material, the housing for this coil is designed with vibration protection in mind through the use of a Ciba urethane compound. The coil also comes with vibration mounts. When compared to a competitor's coil, the MSD Pro Power coil produced 33% more current at the plug, making it an investment you won't regret.

This performance ignition coil produces up to 55,000 volts and has a primary resistance of .03 Ohms, secondary resistance of 1K Ohms, and a turns ratio of 100:1. Additionally, the coil packs a peak current of 800 Ma and a spark duration of 180 Us, making it a reliable choice for any short-duration applications you have in mind.
