It can be switched to momentary mode, but the documentation is really bad, and could use clearer, more concise instructions. The antenna range is good and the remote fob works at a distance of about 50-feet. Customers have reported that it is easy to get the transmitters paired to the motor. However, at times, transmitters have un-paired due to unintelligible instructions. The lead wires are very short which makes installation difficult, and some people found that it stops working after a few days of not being used, so power cycling is necessary.
