It is also quite malleable making it easy to work with by hand and annealed copper in 16 gauge can hold up to 78 pounds before it breaks. Renaissance Wax is recommended to slow down the tarnishing process and protect the jewelry or other craftwork. The wire also handles heat easily, making it perfect for olive oil lamps. However, it should be noted that this wire does contain lead in a small quantity and one should check with the manufacturer if used for jewelry fabrication. The package dimensions are 2.54L x 10.16W x 13.97H inches and while it is not half hard or full hard, it is sturdy enough to use on a jig.
