However, it is important to note that the board is made of glass and may be easily broken, so it may not be suitable for households with small children. The glass pieces are visually appealing, but approximately 10% of them had rough edges that required some sanding to smooth out. The inclusion of stick-on felt pads for the base of the pieces was a nice touch, but unfortunately, these pads had weak adhesive and were easily lost. This can be a potential problem as the bottom of the pieces are open and could potentially scratch the glass board if not properly protected. While these shortcomings may be disappointing, they are not deal-breakers. It is possible to add your own felt pads to the bottom of the pieces for better protection, as some customers have done. This modification improved their overall satisfaction with the product. Overall, this glass chess set is a decent option for those looking for a visually appealing and affordable set. However, it is important to be aware of its fragility and the need for potential modifications to ensure optimal functionality.
