Rogue Protocol is the third book in the Murderbot Diaries series by Martha Wells. Murderbot assists Dr Mensah by investigating GrayCris who attacked the research team. It travels to Milu and an abandoned mining station to uncover evidence of a larger Conspiracy that created it. Along the way, it meets a pet robot and ends up in danger yet again. The reader witnesses the humorous and endearing nature of Murderbot as it navigates through the dangerous mission, trying to balance its complex feelings towards bots who have different relationships with humans. The narration is excellent, and though the voice is male, when read for the first time, the reader imagined Murderbot as female. The series is filled with humor and unexpected moments of heartbreak, making it seem similar to the show, Firefly, a must-read for those who love bots and all the feelings associated with them.
