International version vs US version? Is there a reason to wait for US release or it is same deal?
Answer: There apparently will be no US CARRIER release of this Huawei phone because of federal government security concerns. But the real problem for T-mobile customers is the lack of band 66 and 71 service. Band 71 (600 Mhz) is their new long distance frequency. T-mobile paid nearly eight billion dollars in 2017 and is in a hurry to get it rolled out.. A phone without this frequency built into the phone, and tested and approved by the FCC cannot get it later. And T-mobile wifi calling cannot be added to a phone that does not have it. You can use other wifi calling apps, but phone calls to your T-mobile number will not ring until you are back on T-mobile towers. -
