The spot putty sands very easily with 1000 wet or dry sandpaper when applied to small chips, and the plus is it's acrylic. While it can be used directly on chips with exposed metal as long as rust is not present, it is best to prime first. The 3M 05095 Acryl Putty can also be used to fill very small nicks, scratches, etc. prior to primer and/or finish coat on boats.
